this is my recital of my life story
sometimes i kinda feel like my life's boring
but my life's brand new my life's just forming
I pray for great stories
but no apperanaces on maury
for my mother's heavy heart man i feel so sorry
and my nephew's so confused but i kno deep inside his soul is still soaring
wish i could spready my wings and navigate my way to heaven
tell my daddy i really needed him at the tender age of seven
cause i was gettin picked on
and my mom only played gospel and jazz on the radio i could never choose and pick songs
and i kno he lookin at his youngest son now tryna figure out what went wrong
cause his baby boy was a straigh "a" student for so gotdamn long
now his only focus is smoking blunts and rippin them gotddamn bongs
sometimes i wonder how things could've turned out different
the day in middle school when i seen my mother cryin in the kitchen
even at the age of twelve strugglin tryna comprehend it
it pained my insides jus to sit there and listen
so my liquid sorrow from my tear ducts began to fall too
cause every plan she had to get over always seemed to fall through
thats when i got a message from my older brothers sayin "we jus wanted to call you"
"yeah lil nigga we out here gettin it but we want you to ball too.
jus keep it legitimate you don't wanna be locked up behind those walls too
struggling for commissary
it's kinda scary
knowin that your future is in the law's hands
so have faith put your life in god's hands
walk steady and follow in the lord's path
cause the to the victor goes the spoils and you can have the last long laugh
just please lil bro you can stumble but don't end up on the wrong path"
and so now i'm steady walking
voices in my head i can hear 'em steady talkin
most of them discouraging
a few of them encourage me
guess ima just have to muster up the courage then
i just want my life move further than the rest of you
and ima stay dedicated to it
